I haven't made up my mind yet whether or not to join the local chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). Here's the though processes so far....
Fors:
- I'd like to learn more about the bike I'm riding, where to get stuff for it, what "accessories" are worth it.
- The marketing suggests that there are benefits of joining, I'd like to find out what that's about.
- I'm sure there's a social aspect of it I might enjoy. My father is into the Morris Club and Vintage car club thing and it's obvious that he enjoys spending time with people with a similar interest.
Againsts:
- I'm not really a "joiner" and I'm not really that social.
- There seems to be some political stuff going on between people who belong and people who don't.
- I'm struggling to find time to ride my Harley, I don't think I have the time to commit if there's a concept of meetings and regular "duties" that might need to be performed.
I've filled the form out, still pondering.
