Today was the HOG ride to Toukley. After a big day yesterday doing boring stuff I was keen for a ride and after quick SMS to Roy we decided to meet up and head for the ride's gathering place at Belmont. My son on the back of course!
A quick fuel up (13.29l @ $17.40) and waiting for the start time saw about 13 Harley's ready to go. The route to Toukley saw us turn right at Doyalson, through Wyee, a quick left through the Yarramalong Valley and a stop at Yarramalong for a couple of caffeine shots (good coffee to be had there).
Leaving there, another quick left and up the mountain to Kulnura and then sweeping back around until we found ourselves back on the freeway heading north then we rode into Toukley. The Road to Yarramalong and over the mountain was a little bumpy but very picturesque.
The pit stop was the Beachcomber Hotel, a nice Bistro lunch overlooking the water and time to chat with the other members, some now familiar faces given it's the fourth? time we've ridden together.
Roy and I left the Beachcomber prior to the others, commitments at home called. My son bowed out of a kiss goodbye from one of the HOG wives (amazing how red he can go), and we headed back via Swansea.
The day was perfect riding weather. Nice!
My son took a couple of snippets of video on my compact digital camera during the run. A view forward and a view to the Back.
