Today is the first Saturday that my new to me Harley-Davidson was at home available to ride. It was clear that my son wanted to be involved so off we went to the Big Bike Shop to look for gloves and a helmet. Gloves were easy, a pair of light weight leatheries for $49.95. He had a particular taste for a helmet desingn, "I don't want blue and I'd like one with flames on it". We sized him up, unfortunately they didn't have his size in the colour he was getting...black.
While we were there I decided to look at the boots and jackets in the Harley room at the Big Bike Shop. I'll comment about the experience of that separately. I checked the jackets out and found one that I liked and was told that I could get a "tall man's" version but not in stock. I filed that in the possibility list. I then asked to see the biggest pair of boots they had. They came up too small (only 12's), I couldn't even get one on.
I knew the "wholesale" motorcycle stuff store stocked the brand of helmet that my son had fitted in to so over we went. Straight up we found a black on (with enough silver on it to give it a slightly Power Ranger look) so we grabbed that ($229.45). I then checked out the boots and saw a pair of long rebel style ones that just looked huge. Perfect fit so I grabbed them ($169.95).
That was enough to spend in that trip so we went home.
