After returning home from Metal Mayhem via Roy's Cafe my son was keen to head out, despite the heat, for an hour or so cruising around. We were the only ones home at the time, so away we went, with no plan about where we were going. First west out the link road and I intended heading south. Too many cars going that way so a snap decision was made to head north for a while. Heading north I recalled a road that went around a large dam for a while, thought it would be scenic so we took the turnoff. It was scenic!
An hour or so later I started to hook back in the general direction of home and at a crossroads between a direct route back and a tour around the local beaches I gave my son the choice. Beaches it was...I was actually a bit surprised and and quite pleased with that choice. Somewhere between the dam and the choice I felt the thump of his dozing helmet hit my back and knew he'd be a little tired after a 5.30am start this morning.
A slow cruise around the beach ensued and towards the end of it he asked for another lap. I'd hoped it was the ride, but my suggestion it might have been the bikini's wasn't discounted by him. I decided it was home time and we headed back, passing the tail end of Metal Mayhem on the way.
Good fun and k's travelled 110.
