So I went home and thought the whole thing through. The attraction of the expensive bike was definitely getting my hormones racing, and as my caring and sharing wife had already so correctly stated, it was almost irresistible to me. Fortunately though, together with that same caring and sharing wife I chose a bike costing somewhere in the middle, at 20K.
I am so glad I did this, as the bike has been an endless source of fun and bonding for me and my son. I am now a real Harley Davidson convert, with my pristine blue Harley Road King! It is wonderful, and all the family is queuing up to ride with me, which is great. It has been money well spent thus far.
In addition to this I have also been able to spend some of the money I saved on clothing - things that were never invented in the old days when I rode previously. In true form I have been able to order in real biker clothing from the USA - Draggin Jeans and now I am also waiting on a genuine Harley Davidson jacket - Size XL extra long!
I have also been able to spend similarly on my son - gloves, helmet and jacket; as well as the helmet, gloves and special boots for me! It has been fabulous, as we all know how much I enjoy shopping! I am trying to talk the wife into a $700 Harley jacket and leather platform sandals for the bike, but she is still resolute to sticking to budget. Lucky I have her.
