I recently received a message the SeaSA's ferry to Lucky Bay that was going to shave off a few hundred k's of our trip between Adelaide and Port Lincoln won't be running because some Abu Dabian decided not to lend them their boat.
Because of that we'll now need to ride right around Spencer Gulf through Port Augusta and Port Pirie adding about 350 k's to that day. Looking at the schedule we've decided we just have to suck it up and stick to the current plan, which now makes this our longest day. Approx 740 k's on coastal roads.
The upside is that we'll now see Port Augusta for as long as it takes us to ride through it as quickly as we can, same with Port Pirie.
Price of extra fuel: $27.00
Price of extra k's: Likely a sore arse.
