I dropped my '09 Harley Road King off at the local dealership today to get the oil change required after nearly 500k's of running in the Phase II 103 Kit engine upgrade and some warranty work looked at.
During the engine upgrade they noted that one of the spark plug cables was split, unfortunately that hadn't arrived (none in the country apparently) and a hand grip they were replacing also had not arrived. It looks like I'll be going to Victoria in a couple of days with those things as they are.
Good news on the bling front though, the headlamp and auxiliary light bezels had arrived and finally my chrome passenger foot plates looked like being fitted. I'd also ordered a Harley Rack Bag to take touring with us this time for stuff that was too cumbersome for the panniers and King Tour Pack.
A slight down side and a trap for young players... I'd ordered a footpan to replace the one damaged when I hit the roo on the Nullarbor. At the time I (and the guy at the local dealer) wrongly assumed that the kit that's used to move the rider footplates forward involved a mounting set. It actually just involves footpans that have the connection points moved further back. Sadly the replacement footpan was fitted and before I noticed it the slightly damaged one was discarded by the dealer. So I'm off to Victoria with one foot forward.
I picked up the bike early afternoonish and thankfully had time to take my 09 Harley Davidson Road King down to the Harley Guru who was going to tune up the Phase II 103 kit w/ Super Tuner dyno first thing tomorrow morning.
Postscript: As it turned out the positioning of the footpan didn't make a great deal of difference once I got used to having the front of my left boot haning in mid air. It did however give me some more space between the pan and the gear changer which was actually appreciated.
