The local dealer hosted the Metal Mayhem tour today. A chance to see and ride the new 2009 Harley Models. I took my son down and there were people and Harelys everywhere. Saturday mornings at the Dealer's is the informal meeting place for the local HOG Chapter and they were there in force. Some of the HOG's partners were cooking the BBQ (sausage sandwiches) which was a big hit and test rides seemed to be going out in groups of 15 or so every hour or so.
I wasn't particularly interested in riding anything, I'd already ridden the 2009 model Road King when I was looking at buying a bike and the queues to get on the demo rides were long. I got a chance to see quite a few more of the HOG Chapter members socialising around the bikes, two familiar faces from the ride to Denman. Most wore leather vests adorned with the membership patches, I'm not ready to go down that path quite yet.
Anhow, free food (my son tucked in and had two banga sangas) a Coke and bike talk, chrome everywhere. Not a bad way to spend an hour. I was very interested in looking at the range of bikes that were ridden in by owners, they were everywhere. Someone even approached me when I was riding away to ask a question about my Road King. I wish I knew the answer to it.
Bike I saw that I liked the look of... a nice new black Road King and a beautiful Orange something or other that looked "Screaming Eagle" but I don't know enough about them to know what it actually was. My son was very impressed with it until I sat on it. "Hysterical" was a work bantered around, whatever it was I'm too tall for it :-) and won't be getting one.
