HOG Ride on the Road King

A beautiful day for riding my Harley-Davidson today.  It was sunny, warm for the season and a new members ride day for the local HOG Chapter.  @officerhardass was to be the rear  Road Captain for the day with another member leading the group.  I went to the local dealership early to do a little shopping and immediately noticed that the lead Road Captain's arm was in a sling and he wasn't riding anywhere today.  Fortunately another Road Captain stepped up, @officerhardass was shuffled to the lead of the group and after some discussion a route was planned.

After the briefing about 20 Harley-Davidsons formed up and we turned south towards the Central Coast.  It's a common route for new members rides, some traffic, nice open sweeping curves, dual lanes and good food waiting at the other end.  The group stayed together quite nicely throughout the ride and we ended up stopping at the Entrance Hotel, @officerhardass pleased that the ride was incident free.

This was the social portion of the ride, meeting and greeting with the new members and having a chat with the Director of the Mid North Coast HOG Chapter who had joined us for the ride, great bloke!  After some rehydration it was time for me to head off and get back to the family. A small group of the attendees decided to leave as well while others settled in.  Our small group, led by Dave, who was one of the riders who was with us on our first IBA Saddlesore 1600k, found our way back out to the Swansea Bends.  A few of us decided at that point it was time to have a little fun so we very carefully negotiated the bends at exactly the speed limit taking extra care at the fixed speed camera. wink

As each of us got closer to home the group of funsters became smaller until I was riding by myself. It was really nice to be back out on the Road King with the local guys after much of my riding being solo over the last couple of months.
