I haven't made up my mind yet whether or not to join the local chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). Here's the though processes so far....

Yesterday (Saturday) the weather was typical of the weekends of late and there was absolutely no prospect of taking the Road King for a spin.  Today I couldn't ride, I had commitments at a swimming carnival in the Big Smoke with my daughter and the whole family went.  A 6am start driving to the Big Smoke in a beautifully clear day. 

I took the Road King back to the BMW dealership today so they could fit the new steering lock.  I dropped it off in the morning and left my number so they could ring me to let me know when it was ready. At 4.30pm I rang them, and it was ready.  I guess it's a sign of the public's expectation of service that it's no surprise when the

After such a long break from motorcycling it is my intention to do a Rider Training Course to brush up on my skills and learn to ride the cruiser style bike properly.  There are some differences riding it and I thought I should learn best practices from people who know rather than muddle through it.

A call this afternoon from Noel announced that he had finished the survey of the Road King and it was time to come and get it.  There was a warning that there were a few things to discuss.  Initially I mentioned that I wouldn't be able to get there until tomorrow morning, which was the case, however after the call I knew I had to have

I dropped the Road King off with Noel the Harley Guru this morning.  An initial look over by Noel got an approving nod and the following comments...

• It's been well looked after
• Reiteration that the Fuel Injection System used in 1998 was a bit dodgy
• Approval of the exhaust sytem that had been fitted,

After the ride of the day my son surprised me with a request to take him to a birthday party he was going to later in the day on the bike.  Not hard to work out why, it's great to know that he thinks fanging around on the back of the old Harley with his dad would look cool to his mates.

How could I refuse?

Job done, and yet

Saturday morning 7am, not a cloud in the sky.  Off for a quick 5k walk with my wife to debrief the week and a couple of clouds start to appear, but I'm really excited by the beautiful morning and the prospect of getting out on the Road King.  I had a couple of things to drop off and by 9am the couple of clouds had closed in to a threatening

Had to go home today to do some work and have some lunch.  It was a beautiful day and I hadn't had a chance to do anything but walk past the bike all week so I decided to take the Harley back to work instead of the car.  A short ride but definitely worth firing it up for the five minute trip each way.  I need to remember the security
