A mate of mine bought a very nice CVO® Street Glide® a little while back and in doing what we all do, change the factory exhaust, he stuck on a set of Vance and Hines Power Duals with a set of Monster Rounds. The sound is very impressive.
My 2009 Road King® is adorned with a pair of Vance and Hines Slash Cut Slipons that I've been very happy with but I've been looking for something that would give the note a bit more thump and the Power Duals seemed perfect for the job. So off to the Guru today with parts pre-ordered to get the new headers installed, along with a new back tyre (2nd one in 36000ks).
These are the final touches for the my Harley-Davidson® pre this year's Eastern Creek adventure happening next Monday so I was also hoping that the more open Power Dual headers would also provide a small boost in performance as well as a sweeter note.
As soon as I started the beast to bring it home my expectations about the new sound were met. A lovely twin deep thump on idle and when riding off, particularly with some "active" acceleration. The bike certainly felt more responsive and free-er (if that's a word) than it did before.
So very very happy with the mod, although I expect that ear plugs might be required on longer days in the saddle. My only concern, the heat shields are larger than the standard equipment headers and given my preference to push the Harley to the edges I was a little concerned that they might make a laittle more contact with the road/track in really hard cornering. Let's see :-)
