I thought when I bought the Road King that I'd get a thousand or so k's out of the well worn rear tyre, I managed 2k k's, so as happy as I was about that, it was time for a change. A new rear white walled tyre plus new rear brake pads makes the new shoes story complete for the bike since I bought it. All just in time for my second try at the Advanced Rider Training Course at Oran Park on Monday week.
As luck would have it, rain threatened all day while I was trying to organise to pick the Harley up from the Guru. The moment I started it to take it home, it pi$$ed down. All the fun I needed, new rear tyre, new rear brakes, wet roads, rain, heavy traffic and no wet weather gear. If nothing else it was a good warmup to the next wet t-shirt contest I enter in.
Added to running costs for the shoe change: $690.00.
