Given the soaring midday/afternoon temperatures of late we decided to go for a ride and grab some breakfast. Once again my son pillioned and my wife and daughters travelled conservatively in my wife's car. We decided to head to The Entrance on the Central Coast, it's close enough to get to before the kids start eating their own arms but far enough to be considered a decent morning ride.
We left about 8 and arrived without incident. Riding down the coast road was pleasantly cool in comparison to the heat of my recent rides.
Heading to a differenct cafe to the one I went to last time I rode to The Entrance we ended up at the Escape Cafe/Restaurant. While not ride related I mention the name of it because is was good "home cooked" food and exceptionally well priced. We got out of there for $48 including three meals, banana bread, a side of bacon, 5 coffees and two milkshakes. I asked them to check they had everything and they confirmed the amount.
After the meal, a leisurely ride home. By the time we got close to home the temp had reached 30c and the day just got hotter, so the morning ride was definitely the right choice.
